Performance Specifications Comparison: 2018 vs 2017 Audi Q5

Whether you're looking for speed, agility, or versatility, you'll find it in the Audi lineup. But you'll see that there are some pretty significant differences in these as the all-new, completely redesigned 2018 lineup is released. For example, one of the biggest changes from the 2017 Audi Q5 to the 2018 Audi Q5 is a more powerful engine.

The 2017 Audi Q5 is powered by a 2.0L I-4 turbocharged/FSI engine that produces up to 220 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. This engine has a top track speed of 130 MPH and an acceleration from 0 to 60 MPH in just 7 seconds. Paired with an 8-speed Tiptronic automatic transmission with quattro® all-wheel drive, the vehicle offers excellent maneuverability.

The 2018 Audi Q5, however, is powered by a 2.0L turbocharged engine that produces up to 252 horsepower and 273 lb-ft of torque. This upgraded engine offers an acceleration from 0 to 60 MPH in just 5.9 seconds, so you'll have no problem at all with highway passing power. This engine is also paired with quattro® all-wheel drive, so those weekend adventures won't be hindered by your luxury compact SUV.

Technology Upgrades in 2018 Audi Q5 Outshine 2017 Audi Q5

While the 2017 Audi Q5 is an absolute joy to drive and ride in, the technology in the 2018 Audi Q5 takes it to the next level. For example, both vehicles offer the Bang & Olufsen sound system, but one vehicle offers several more speakers and a higher power wattage capacity.

But the biggest difference between the two vehicles is actually in the infotainment system hardware. The 2017 Audi Q5 has the MMI® Navigation plus system as an available feature. This system offers Audi connect® with Google Earth™ that has 3D satellite imagery. The vehicle also has a Wi-Fi hotspot for up to eight passengers to use at once, along with local weather and traffic information.

But the 2018 Audi Q5 has an all-new system. With MMI® touch, you can write out your address entries using your finger so you no longer have to use the turn dial to select letters or numbers. The system still has all the other features, but it's significantly easier to use and is much less distracting than the older system.
