Braman Audi is happy to announce that the new 2012 Audi A6, known for making the road a "more intelligent place"1, is now available to luxury car drivers in the greater West Palm Beach area. Among the state-of-the art safety advancements the redesigned Audi A6 delivers are aluminum hybrid body construction, FlexRay data transfer system, LED headlights, Audi night vision assistant, Audi drive select, and Audi connect.
Not surprisingly, the new 2012 Audi A6 passed the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) crash test with flying colors. In fact, it performed so well that it was subsequently awarded with an IIHS "Top Safety Pick" title.
On the 2012 Audi A6 sedan's performance in the roof strength portion of the test, the IIHS reported, "In the Institute's roof strength evaluation, the roof of the A6 withstood a force equal to 4.9 times the car's weight..."2
To put this into better perspective, the Audi A6 sedan scored point-nine points higher than what the IIHS deems worthy of a "good" rating. That's three-point-four points higher than the current federal mandate. And, one-point-one points better than last year's A6 , demonstrating significant year-over-year improvement.
Not surprisingly, the new Audi A6 demonstrated similar outstanding performance, beyond just the roof strength component of the IIHS safety screening. Like any IIHS Top Safety Pick, the redesigned Audi A6 received top "good" ratings across the board, including front- , side-, rear- and rollover crash tests.
