The latest development surrounding the electric cars comes in the form of something coined "Audi e-sound". This feature is developed by Rudolf Halbmeir an acoustics engineer with an electric piano on his desk.
In talking about creating synthetic solutions for automobiles, Halbmeir likens an automobile's sound to music, which is arguably more emotional rather than it is intellectual. This isn't something you likely notice on a daily basis. But, Braman Audi invites you to listen the next time you're driving your new Audi A4, A5, A6, or A7 through the streets of West Palm Beach. We think you'll agree.
"So, what does e-sound sound like in the Audi e-tron?" you ask. Thanks to a blend of low- and mid-range frequencies, it sounds like a powerful sports car, which speaks to adrenaline fiends with a throaty, low growl... At least that's when the gas pedal is pushed in the R8 e-tron. At an idle, it emits more of a gentle purr.
