As the pockets of those in the Millennial generation begin to get a little larger, many companies are seizing the opportunity to expand their consumer base. Audi is no exception, and is launching efforts to reach younger consumers in very non-traditional ways. This time it is through PlayStation.
As the first automaker to develop a space within PlayStation Home, Audi is providing a way for people to experience Audi performance and design right from their couch. This virtual space explains many key technologies available in new Audi models and gives gamers the opportunity to virtually test drive concept cars. There is also a space for discussions about cars and full access to news about Audi product launches, virtual lectures, VIP events and mini-games.
Since Audi first started their PlayStation campaign; 15 million games have been played by users. Now, our favorite automaker is looking to build upon this success. In a recent statement, the Audi Project Manager for videogames and virtual worlds, Roland Hoepting said, "As a brand, Audi AG saw great value and potential in the experiences and level of interaction the world of gaming affords. PlayStation Home gives Audi AG the perfect environment to connect with gamers in an unexpected way. The numbers and reaction we've had from the PlayStation Home audience speak for themselves."1
Even if these consumers cannot afford to purchase an Audi right now, making them more familiar with the product line could make them more apt to purchase down the road. If you are thinking about purchasing an Audi or would like to learn more about any of the models in our large inventory of new and used Audi vehicles, stop by the Braman Audi showroom.
