Audi has decided that the future is most definitely here - and it's going to change everything. They're smart, though, and they aren't making any dramatic shifts. Rather, they're seeing what works, what people like, and what is most effective. They're well aware that electric cars are indeed technology that should be explored, which is why they've crafted more than one, as well as hybrids, in the last few years.

Indeed, while some auto companies have been late to the party, Audi unveiled it's second - not it's first! - electric vehicle in 2010. The very first vehicle was shown in the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show. Both go by the name of the e-tron, and were quite different from one another, in both size and style. However, whenever Audi unveils a car, jaws tend to hit the floor because they are always undoubtedly sexy.

But 2014 is here and Audi is at it again. While the first e-tron was based on the design of the R8 supercar, and the second more like a classic British sports car that James Bond would give his 00s for, this one goes by the name of the Audi A3 e-tron. This one is a plug-in hybrid, so it gives customers the versatility that they'll need in a world that has yet to make the change. Their aim wasn't to make a car that looked like every other hybrid of electric car on the market. In fact, they stated, "We're proud the Audi A3 e-tron doesn't look like an electric car." Some may take insult with that, but when has Audi ever tried to make a car that looks like something similar? It's just not their style.

Check under the bright and shiny red hood and you'll discover a 1.4-liter, four-cylinder turbocharged gasoline engine, working with an electric motor for 204 horsepower and 258 pounds-feet of torque. Not to mention the fact that the battery power alone can be used up to 80 mph. Perhaps now is definitely the time to invest in a greener vehicle.
