At Audi West Palm Beach, we're dedicated to helping drivers in the Boynton Beach, Delray Beach, and West Palm Beach areas increase the longevity of their vehicles.
Since performing routine maintenance is the easiest way to keep your Audi Q3 in top shape, we've put together this maintenance schedule. Keep reading to stay abreast of what needs to be done, and when, to keep your car running like the day you drove it off the lot.
Every 7,500 Miles
After the first 7,500 miles, it may be time for an oil change. Staying up to date on oil changes will keep your vehicle performing safely and efficiently.
The general recommendation is to perform this approximately every 7,500 miles for new cars, but be sure to check your owner's manual for your vehicle's exact needs. Or, contact your local Audi technician for their recommendation.
You can also keep an eye on your oil levels by checking the dipstick when the car is off, and the engine is cool.
10,000 Miles or 1 Year after Purchase
Minor maintenance should be performed for the first time after 10,000 miles, or one year from purchase. This should then be repeated every 20,000 miles, or two years, after that initial service.
To put it simply, minor maintenance alternates each year with the standard maintenance described in the next section. Minor maintenance services are:
- Checking disc brake pads
- Resetting service reminder indicator display
- Rotating tires
This is also a great time to request a multi-point inspection, which is offered complimentarily at many Audi service centers. Be sure to inquire about inspections when you contact your Audi dealer. Â
20,000 Miles or 2 Years after Purchase
The 20,000-mile mark is a big one for your car, and will require several standard maintenance checks and replacements. At this point, you should do the following:Â
Check safety belt function
- Replace the dust and pollen filter
- Check condition of the brake hoses and presence of bleeder caps
- Lubricate door hinge and door latch
- Check freeze protection and coolant level in the engine cooling system
- Inspect the engine, transmission, and steering
- Check wiper blades
- Check front and rear axle/suspension components for excessive play
- Lubricate hood safety catch
- Check warning and indicator lights
- Check headlight adjustment, exterior lighting, and horn function
- Change your brake fluid to prevent corrosion and failure of internal brake system components
You'll also want to check for tire damage and wheel alignment. Misaligned wheels can cause serious damage to the underbody of the car.
Wheels may shift out of alignment after two years, so be sure to check them regularly. You may even need to replace your tires if they've worn down to the treadwear indicators.
60,000 Miles
In addition to your standard service, you'll want to prolong your engine's life by replacing the air filter every 60,000 miles.
Also, be sure to change your spark plugs at this point, or every six years (whichever comes first). Brake pads and tires should always be checked at the 60,000-mile mark, as they may have become worn. Â
100,000 Miles
This is the checkup where, in addition to the regular standard service, you'll also need to check your belt systems, and maybe even replace the timing belt. Like a time machine, replacing the timing belt will give your Q3 many more years of smooth operation.Â
